The spark: We all know what it is! It keeps your relationship with your partner fun and youthful, and that’s what we strive for! And let me tell you, it does not have to dim after having a baby.
Here are a few tips and tricks for you! ❤️
Shed the parental titles! Well, not 100% of the time, but when you have time alone with your partner. You get so used to being parents that you almost forget that you’re partners, too! You are able to revisit the things you loved before having a baby together, it’s allowed I promise! Just because date nights don’t happen as often as they used to, that doesn’t mean that romance can’t be a priority for you! There is no reason why you can’t be as romantic as you were pre-baby.
Being honest with each other is important. If you feel like something has shifted, be honest about it! More times than not, you get so tied up in parenting duties that you don’t even realize your partner could be feeling a different way than you. Keep your line of communication open.
Enjoy the little things. If you and your partner happen to wake up before baby does in the morning, have a cup of coffee together and catch up! It sometimes can feel like you truly haven’t ‘seen’ them in forever! When your baby is napping, put household duties on hold (you’re allowed to do that too y’know!) and just enjoy each other’s company. Watch one of your favorite movies together! Dance to one of your favorite songs together! Create art! Anything will do.
Send a cute text or email to one another from time to time! Remind them just how much you love and appreciate them. It goes such a long way.
Remembering that everyday doesn’t have to be a grand gesture to one another, but instead that you’ve created a beautiful life together! Soak it in. Reminisce on what you had pre-baby, but don’t stay there too long! You’ll miss out on everything you have in front of you. Romance doesn’t dim just because you’ve had a baby together, if anything it makes your bond stronger.
Remind your partner just how much you love them.
Love with your whole heart.
